Pediatric First Visit Expectations
At your child’s first dental visit, we will welcome them with open arms! We recommend that you begin scheduling your child’s regular dental check-ups at one year of age, but no matter your child’s age, it is never too late to begin good dental habits! Our team loves working with kids of all ages and we provide a comfortable, first-class experience that will encourage your child to build dental habits that will last a lifetime!
What to Expect
During your child’s first visit, we’ll introduce them to our team and help them get used to the dental chair. We’ll count their teeth, evaluate their smile and answer any questions you may have. If your child is older, we will perform x-rays and take a closer look at their smile. Any dental concerns that are discovered will be addressed and explained in detail. We believe in providing honest and reliable feedback so that you can make the most educated decisions when it comes to caring for your child’s smile. We want only the best for each of our guests and our team is excited to meet your child at their first dental visit!
Preparing Your Child for a Great Experience
Before your child’s first visit, we recommend preparing them for their dental experience by telling them fun dental stories or reading them a good book about dentistry. Getting them excited about their dental care will improve their perspective as they arrive for their first visit. We aim to create pleasant dental memories at each and every visit!
Dental Education
As a parent, we provide valuable information to help educate you in your child’s dental development. During your child’s routine visits, we can address a variety of dental concerns including teeth grinding, thumb sucking, decay, dietary habits and oral hygiene. We’re here to answer any questions you may have and provide insight on your child’s dental development. We can help with preventative care, including dental sealants and fluoride applications. Your child’s dentist can also give advice concerning your child’s orthodontic needs both in the present and future.
